The Forum Health & Wellness Centre Harbourside is celebrating one year of outstanding business success.
The Forum opened the Health & Wellness Centre Harbourside in October 2006 with the presales period for this Centre out-performing any other in NSW. The Forum Harbourside doubled its original business targets and signed-up some 3,863 members last year.
NUsport General Manager, Samantha Martin-Williams said that The Forum Health & Wellness Centre Harbourside was the successful result of working across state, federal and local governments, heritage authorities and planning departments to create a place suitable for a totally new market.
Current membership is more than 4,500 members – which is made up of inner city residents, students of the University of Newcastle and a large amount of corporate members.
In 2007 there are more than 100 Hunter businesses participating in corporate wellness packages that provide the tools to lead healthier lives at work and at home. Local businesses are reporting that sick leave is reduced, morale has improved, staff turnover is lower and productivity is increasing with the assistance of the NUsport Corporate Wellness programs.
Recently the design of The Forum Health & Wellness Centre Harbourside in the historic Per Way building won its architects honours at the Royal Australian Institute or Architects (RAIA) Lower Hunter Urban Design Awards.
To celebrate the one year milestone The Forum Harbourside will be giving away a free one month membership each day between 29 October and 4 November. Members and visitors of the Centre can enter by writing their contact details on an entry form.
