nib appoints new executive manager

Following a national executive search, nib holdings limited (nib) today announced the appointment of Ms Melanie Kneale as the company’s Chief Operating and Technology Officer.

The new executive management position was developed following a restructure of the organisation, which was announced in September prior to the health fund’s listing on the Australian Securities Exchange.

Melanie has extensive experience in the health insurance and health care industries in Australia and overseas. She previously held an executive role with health insurer MBF and was an associate partner for management consulting and technology services company, Accenture Australia.

nib Managing Director, Mr Mark Fitzgibbon, said Melanie’s industry knowledge and experience will ensure she plays an important role in nib’s executive management team.

Born and raised in South Africa, Melanie has an Honours Degree in Business Science from the University of Cape Town with majors in Economics and Industrial Psychology.

Melanie will take up her new position with nib early in the New Year.
